What are the best horse-friendly communities with a big city feel in California?

I’m considering relocating from the Seattle area to somewhere in California, preferably NorCal but it does not matter. I have visited several areas and different counties but I don’t know much about the state or the best places for relocation. I have quarter horses, and I would want to move to an area that is horse-friendly but still has a plentiful job market. I am also pursuing a certificate in the aesthetics trade, and I would like to be able to find a job either working for a dermatologist, plastic surgeon, cosmetic center or wellness spa. If anyone has any insight on a ‘horsey but still big city’ location in California to relocate to, your input is greatly appreciated

Look into Placerville and that area outside of Sacramento if you want the north. My Aunt lives there and it IS horse friendly and my Uncle works in Sacramento so apparently the drive can’t be that bad.
